After completing postgraduate training in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cambridge, Dr Maclennan has worked as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and NHS Fife since 2014. She specialises in breast cancer, brain metastases, and radiotherapy for metastatic cancer of unknown primary (mCUP).
She is a member of the Edinburgh Centre for Neuro-Oncology (ECNO) team, delivering stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases.
Dr Maclennan is actively involved in radiotherapy research and service development, with experience as a Principal Investigator and as a member of Trial Management Groups (Fast Forward, SUPREMO).
She leads the departmental education meetings at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, is a clinical supervisor, an advanced communication tutor with EC4H, and a mentor with the RCR’s RadReach scheme. She also holds a Foundation Certificate in Transactional Analysis Counselling and is undertaking further psychotherapy training to support patients’ psychological wellbeing.
